I'm ready, how can I find a local Christian church that agrees with the Prayer Group?
You could go to church and try asking them what they believe and teach, face to face, for starters. We want to encourage you, as soon as you're ready, to find a local Christian faith group in which to worship, and learn more about Jesus. You should let them declare for themselves what it is they believe in and teach, rather than go strictly by the labels or names of different Christian groups, or go by anything we might be able to tell you about each one of them.

We have plainly stated on this website, many times and many ways, that we are only here to unite in the Christ we believers already agree in, and if you don't believe in Him yet, to show Him to you so you can get started believing with us all. We are not here to finish the job. Only a local Christian faith group can fully minister to your needs in Christ, and lead you to know Him as you should.

Nor are we here to be the repository of Christian information that fully defines all the truth of God in Christ to the world. We don't agree in every word of the Bible yet, so you cannot expect us to unite in explaining it all to you. What we're not prepared to unite in here, we won't define for you here. Each Christian group is fully capable of explaining themselves to you.

If you're looking for a Christian church to attend and don't know which one to choose, you could try asking Christian friends you may know already. You could also check into the many lists of Christian faith groups that can be read on the Internet, but with this word of caution: if you do choose to do some research on the Internet, we urge you to examine this information very carefully. The Internet is an entirely open medium, where non-Christian ideas abound, and where a lot of what is offered as "information" is created by unbelievers and secular sources, and sometimes just by misguided individuals.

We can warn you that even the term "Christian", itself, is sometimes misappropriated by decidedly non-Christian groups, so much so as to be falsely claimed, in some of the worst cases, even by hateful, violent, racist groups. If you've found Jesus here at all, then you can clearly see that such hate groups are not Christian at all.

Regarding looking for a local Christian group that is in agreement with these spiritual Christian principles of love and holiness, as described in this Prayer Group website, this can differ from denomination to denomination. Even within one denomination, in some cases, agreement in such can differ from local group, to local group. If you want to find out if they agree as we do, simply ask them questions about God's eternal love and holiness as a basis on which to begin to evaluate the local Christian group you are considering attending.

Regarding eternal love, if they say that you can get to heaven and spend eternity in God's love and holiness *only* by joining their particular sect, then they don't agree with this Prayer Group in God's eternal love given to all believers.

Regarding holiness, if they say that you can get to heaven and spend eternity in God's love and holiness *without* repentance, then they don't agree with this Prayer Group in God's eternal holiness given to all believers.

One holiness issue you might well run into deals with the presently much-debated sins of sexual immorality of behavior. We clearly state in our Statement of Faith and Order Guidelines our agreement together that, "...the use of the sexual function has its true meaning and moral rectitude only in true marriage. We believe that marriage is a holy union of one man and one woman in which they commit, with God's help, to build a loving, life-giving, faithful relationship that will last for a lifetime."

Beyond those general things to look for, we're not here to make any attempt to list the names of all churches or ecclesial bodies that might be in agreement with us, or to delineate all the beliefs where the various Christian faith groups differ from one another. It's up to you to grow and move on in your walk with God, once you believe in Jesus, and let the Holy Spirit and the word of God, in meditation and prayer, lead you in your decision as to which local group of Christians with whom you should worship.

We don't pretend, here in this Prayer Group, to teach you all you ever need to learn about Jesus. We only try to get you started believing in Jesus here, by praying together in the words of the Bible in which we believe all Christian faith groups do already agree: the message about what Jesus did on the cross for us all. We have a fairly narrow focus here in that regard.

This Prayer Group is centered on prayer together in our agreement, which we proclaim to the people of all nations: that an eternity together in God's love and holiness is available to all believers in the name of Jesus, our one Christ and Redeemer, through a life-changing process that begins with faith in Him for forgiveness of our sins in repentance. We are firmly committed to show you here in this Prayer Group that, as a group, we are united in our shared belief as fact, in the Bible's assertion of the self-sacrificial death of the Son of God, in the name of Jesus of Nazareth, to pay for our sins and yours; and in His subsequent resurrection in all power in heaven and earth.

"that is, in Christ God was reconciling the world to himself, not counting their trespasses against them, and entrusting the message of reconciliation to us." (2Co 5:19 NRSV)

"To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation." (2Co 5:19 av)

We intend that this collective goal of the Prayer Group is consistently shown here in all group forums. We've so declared ourselves to you. Let local Christian groups describe themselves to you as they believe most appropriate. Then as you begin to believe in Jesus, pray about it, and let the Holy Spirit, and His word, the Bible, lead you in making your decision as to where to attend church.

We just want you to find Jesus here in this Prayer Group, and then find a local group of Christians with who to meet, learn, and worship together. We hope and pray that, when you are ready, you find a local Christian church that agrees with the spiritual values of love and holiness that we seek here together in Christ. Please know that our prayers are with you as you look to draw closer to God and His people, and we trust Him to lead you to the Christian worship group where He wants you to be.

"Lord Jesus, we pray that we, your believers, be united as you and the Father are united. In every prayer here for unity and healing, in all we do and say, may the Lord's will in, with and through Jesus Christ be done. AMEN"
