Holy Spirit in Presbyterians can unite us all in Jesus' words about human sexuality
Praise God that the Presbyterian Church in America (PCA) has officially affirmed a Biblical stance on human sexuality that is consistent with the essential Christian doctrine of sexual morality and marriage for which Presbyterians have been admired by the rest of the body of Christ for generations!

We praise God for the power of His Holy Spirit working in and through our sisters and brothers in the Presbyterian Church in America (PCA) in leading them to officially affirm a Biblical stance on human sexuality that does not condone same-sex sin or same-sex marriage, as shown in this article at Christianity Today, ”PCA Sides With the Nashville Statement Over Revoice’s Approach”, at this link: https://www.christianitytoday....ce-sbc-ecc-vote.html https://www.christianitytoday....ce-sbc-ecc-vote.html

We believers all need to unite in the words of Jesus with the PCA, and with all other repentant, mutually loving and forgiving believers where this issue comes up, regardless of Christian denomination, non-denomination, or other Christian faith group, and let both them and the world know that all who are determined to approve gay sex acts are leaving Jesus and leaving all the rest of us believers, not just leaving the PCA or just their own Christian faith group.

Jesus said the Holy Spirit would lead us believers into all truth by reminding us of the words Jesus spoke. Let’s always remember together that the first words of Jesus to begin His ministry were “… Repent and believe the good news!"” (Mr 1:15b NIV), not ‘the good news is that you don’t need to repent’.

Non-repentance is precisely what the gay-sex-act-practicing, non-Christians want, and is why they constantly try to confuse the issue with word wars, by constantly changing their meaning of words.

I very much agree that repentant believers who choose celibacy over their past gay sins should be encouraged and honored among believers for making such a difficult choice. Jesus said, “…others have renounced marriage because of the kingdom of heaven. The one who can accept this should accept it."” (Mt 19:12b NIV)

But calling them gay Christians is an oxymoron that is one more, additional meaning for the word “gay” we don’t need confusing our discussions together and confusing our kids who are inundated by all modern media with what the world means by gay.

Make no mistake, when the world says gay it means not merely gay-attracted, but free to engage in same-sex sex acts with whomever they choose, not repentant Christians, who are letting the Holy Spirit lead them into all truth in Jesus, now learning to become holy as He is holy, and now letting the word of God sanctify them, as Jesus was sanctified and set apart for the purposes of God from the sins of the world. More than a bit confusing.

To those gays and to the world, there is no confusion in what gay means, and to them there is no gay Christian in the name of Jesus who repents of gay sins. Believers need to accept the way gays, themselves, and the world define the word gay, and don’t confuse the life Jesus offers to let them live in, in God’s Holy Spirit, with their openly proud refusal of the repentance and forgiveness of sins that Jesus paid for with His blood in order to give them credit for Jesus’ perfect righteousness instead.

In hopes that we might reach out to gays who want repentance and forgiveness of sins, we believers all have to begin together to focus on reminding them of the good news in Jesus’ words in which all repentant, mutually loving and forgiving Christians can agree and unite, so the gays and all unbelievers, of all kinds, can know God sent Jesus here in God’s love to give them a way out of sins by faith in the name of Jesus.

Jesus said the one thing that would always be preached in His name, and therefor always believed in order for any of us to be in His name, is “repentance and forgiveness of sins”, not the non-repentance and redefinition of sins the world now wants to call Christian in the name of Jesus.

According to Jesus, the good news is that God fulfilled the scriptures by sending Jesus here to live, lay down His life, and live again forever with God in order to give us His eternal Spirit to start living in us in power in this life, by believing “in His name” for “repentance and forgiveness of sins”. “46 He told them, "This is what is written: The Christ will suffer and rise from the dead on the third day, 47 and repentance and forgiveness of sins will be preached in his name to all nations, beginning at Jerusalem. 48 You are witnesses of these things. 49 I am going to send you what my Father has promised; but stay in the city until you have been clothed with power from on high."” (Lu 24:46-49 NIV)

Don’t bother with the gays’ word-wars against all the scriptures where the apostle Paul makes it clear that gay-sex-act sins are sins of “sexual immorality”, and gay sins are specifically included in long lists of sins that are not to be permitted among those who claim to be believers. It is certain that same Jesus who, after His crucifixion, had the power to appear to Paul on the road to Damascus to begin Paul’s conversion, certainly also had the power to make sure Paul, and all of the other apostles, understood what Jesus meant by “sexual immorality”. So just stick with the words of Jesus that Jesus promised the Holy Spirit would help all of us who believe in His name to remember together.

Jesus plainly said “sexual immorality” is among long lists where He referred to evils and sins that Jesus said “defile” our hearts and make us “unclean” (Mt 15:18-20 NIV, Mr 7:20-23 NIV). And Jesus said ultimately, those who refuse to repent of them will remain outside the holy city of God forever, including “those who practise magic arts, the sexually immoral, the murderers, the idolaters and everyone who loves and practises falsehood.” (Re 22:13-15b NIV).

In the ministry that Jesus gave to him, the Apostle Paul had to deal with the LGBT issue first-hand so it was necessary for Paul to address the specifics of sexually immoral acts so there was no confusion about the fact that these are sins not to be approved of by believers or by any Christian church officials ever.
“26 Because of this, God gave them over to shameful lusts. Even their women exchanged natural relations for unnatural ones. 27 In the same way the men also abandoned natural relations with women and were inflamed with lust for one another. Men committed indecent acts with other men, and received in themselves the due penalty for their perversion. 28 Furthermore, since they did not think it worthwhile to retain the knowledge of God, he gave them over to a depraved mind, to do what ought not to be done. 29 They have become filled with every kind of wickedness, evil, greed and depravity. They are full of envy, murder, strife, deceit and malice. They are gossips, 30 slanderers, God-haters, insolent, arrogant and boastful; they invent ways of doing evil; they disobey their parents; 31 they are senseless, faithless, heartless, ruthless. 32 Although they know God’s righteous decree that those who do such things deserve death, they not only continue to do these very things but also approve of those who practice them.” (Ro 1:26-32 NivUS)

“9 ¶ Do you not know that the wicked will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: Neither the sexually immoral nor idolaters nor adulterers nor male prostitutes nor homosexual offenders 10 nor thieves nor the greedy nor drunkards nor slanderers nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God.” (1Co 6:9-10 NivUS)

“9 We also know that law is made not for the righteous but for lawbreakers and rebels, the ungodly and sinful, the unholy and irreligious; for those who kill their fathers or mothers, for murderers, 10 for adulterers and perverts, for slave traders and liars and perjurers — and for whatever else is contrary to the sound doctrine 11 that conforms to the glorious gospel of the blessed God, which he entrusted to me.” (1Ti 1:9-11 NivUS)

Regarding gay sin, as in all areas of sin, we've got to tell the truth when the opportunity comes, that gay sex acts are sin and most certainly can be forgiven by both God and us, if they will have faith in the name of Jesus to save them from their sins, just as we believers all do, and we must, "as the Spirit leads, look for opportunities to explain to them the hope that is in us", as was recently well stated in the CT article describing their take on “beautiful orthodoxy” on this subject with sensitivity, wisdom, and patience, ”True Doctrine Doesn't Wait”, at this link:
https://www.christianitytoday....ine-doesnt-wait.html https://www.christianitytoday....ine-doesnt-wait.html

And as stated in that article, we believers of course don't single out this one set of sins. In my opinion, the gays single it out for us, trying now to say that sexual immorality is not just legal according to the civil laws of man, which many of us were willing to allow them as a matter of personal freedom of choice for their own private sexual behavior among adults, but that's not enough for them to allow us believers to choose holiness by faith in the words of Jesus for ourselves instead.

We believers love unrepentant sinners like Jesus does, and we want adults to be free to choose sin for their own life, but some gays now try to contend sexual immorality is both moral and Christian, and us believers calling it sin is hate speech. A good many of us believers regard it as matter of separation of church and state that our beliefs on human sexuality and marriage should not be imposed by man’s law on unbelieving gays. But conversely, we demand they do not infringe on our freedoms of religion and speech.

Without giving up our rights to religious freedom, and though they may regard us as their enemies, we believers need to forgive and let them see in our behavior to them that we love them anyway, like Jesus loved us when we were still in our sins, and we must realize that our contention is not with the flesh and blood of the unrepentant sinner, but is spiritual at a much higher level.

This attempt to call the gay sin good, the same sin which Jesus says defiles our heart, is Satan's attack plan, along with pornography, because it’s an easy sell through modern media, and it trades repentance and forgiveness of sins Jesus said would always be preached in His name, for the non-repentance and redefinition of sins the world wants to call moral and Christian in Jesus' name, because if they can get the name, then we no longer have the protection in His name, the name that means the salvation of His people, protected as Jesus promised us, and Christian unity stops. “She will give birth to a son, and you are to give him the name Jesus, because he will save his people from their sins."” (Mt 1:21 NIV) “I will remain in the world no longer, but they are still in the world, and I am coming to you. Holy Father, protect them by the power of your name—the name you gave me—so that they may be one as we are one.” (Joh 17:11 NIV )“My prayer is not that you take them out of the world but that you protect them from the evil one.” (Joh 17:15 NIV)

If we love His flock like He does, with the Good Shepherd's heart, we lay down our lives to get back all the repentant, mutually loving and forgiving believers that have been led astray on this subject in recent years, regardless of in our denomination or not, because they all were once His, and they will hear the Spirit of the One, Good Shepherd calling from the body of Christ united as the Father and Son are one in that one Spirit.

This is the frontline against the against the powers of this dark world. “For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.” (Eph 6:12 NIV)

Christian unity that shows the world that God sent Jesus, and why, is our unity in the name of Jesus; our unity in the gospel, good news about Jesus; and our unity in obedience in the greatest way possible to the first and second most important commands as Jesus commanded them to be fulfilled, which are all the same thing, as shown by the scriptures in the prayer, at this link: http://scuwpg.org/eve/forums/a...040813/m/97520247373 http://scuwpg.org/eve/forums/a...040813/m/97520247373
