Our Father in Heaven, We praise you for signs such as this Christian foster care group showing the world your Holy Spirit at work for Christian unity among believers in the name of Jesus for repentance and forgiveness of sins! We thank you Father, for blessing us with such good news about Christian unity that includes both Protestants and Catholics, and shows verification of respect in the constitutional US laws of man for the freedoms of religion for Christians. Thanks also, Father, for leading this foster care group to have an excellent statement of beliefs to be used for their work, that serves perfectly for the basis of Christian unity of all repentant believers in the name of Jesus for repentance and forgiveness of sins, as Jesus said would always be preached everywhere in His name. “45 Then he opened their minds so they could understand the Scriptures. 46 He told them, "This is what is written: The Christ will suffer and rise from the dead on the third day, 47 and repentance and forgiveness of sins will be preached in his name to all nations, beginning at Jerusalem. 48 You are witnesses of these things. 49 I am going to send you what my Father has promised; but stay in the city until you have been clothed with power from on high."” (Lu 24:45-49 NivUS) In the name of Jesus, we pray, amen. Article excerpt and link shown below: "The July 5 announcement clarifies the requirement that applicants must sign a doctrinal statement which indicates their belief in the following foundational principles: The Bible is the only inspired, infallible, inerrant and authoritative Word of God; There is one God, creator of heaven and earth, eternally existent in three distinct persons: the Father, the Son and Holy Spirit; The deity and humanity of Jesus Christ: that he was born of a virgin; that we are redeemed by His atoning death through His shed blood; that He bodily resurrected and ascended into heaven and that He will come again in power and great glory to judge the living and the dead; the value and dignity of all people created in God's image, but alienated from God and each other because of our sin and guilt and justly subject to God's wrath; that regeneration by the Holy Spirit by grace through faith is essential for the salvation of lost and sinful people; the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and life everlasting solely through repentance and faith in Jesus Christ; that the Holy Spirit unites all believers in the Lord Jesus Christ and that together they form one body – the church; God ordained the family as the foundational institution of human society. It is composed of persons related to one another by marriage, blood or adoption, and that God's design for marriage is the legal joining of one man and one woman in a life-long covenant relationship; and God creates each person as either male or female, and these two distinct, complementary sexes, together reflect the image and nature of God... ...The Catholic Diocese of Charleston has applauded Miracle Hill's decision to accept Catholic foster parents. Sandy Furnell, Miracle Hill communications director, said, “When we've had conversations with local leaders in different churches, the Catholic Church and different denominations, they too have been very pleased to hear about this change.” Maria Aselage, spokeswoman for the Diocese of Charleston, said, “The Diocese of Charleston welcomes this change to policy as we continue to unite as Christians in service of the poorest and most vulnerable among us. The doctrinal statement of Miracle Hill is consistent with the teachings of the Catholic Church and was affirmed by a diocesan theologian several months ago.” http://www.ncregister.com/blog...holic-foster-parents | ||
