Praying for a Strong Sense of Unity Father we come boldly and humbly to the Throne Room, by faith we receive the presence and love of the Father, and by faith we believe Christ is at the right hand of the Father, making intercession for the church and the world; anoint us to pray and lead us by the Holy Spirit in praying prayers for unity of the church, and the eternal purpose of our Lord, which is the Bride of Christ, the church around the world. Father a long time ago, your will was always for the church to be one. We know those who love you, Father, will have a desire to see the church one. We may not understand what it means to be one, or we may not understand what it means for the church to have unity, but what we do have is a desire to see the church one and in unity. "According as he hath chosen us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before him in love...according to the good pleasure of his will...Having made known unto us the mystery of his will, according to his good pleasure which he hath purposed in himself: That in the dispensation of the fulness of times he might gather together in one all things in Christ, both which are in heaven, and which are on earth; [even] in him:" (Eph 1:4, 5b, 9,10 AV) "But ye are come unto mount Sion, and unto the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem, and to an innumerable company of angels, To the general assembly and church of the firstborn, which are written in heaven, and to God the Judge of all, and to the spirits of just men made perfect, And to Jesus the mediator of the new covenant, and to the blood of sprinkling, that speaketh better things than [that of] Abel." (Heb 12:22-24 AV) "How shall we sing the LORD'S song in a strange land? If I forget thee, O Jerusalem, let my right hand forget [her cunning]. If I do not remember thee, let my tongue cleave to the roof of my mouth; if I prefer not Jerusalem above my chief joy." (Ps 137:4-6 AV) Father give us hearing ears to hear the voice of the Holy Spirit speaking to the church around the world, teaching us how to be one, and how to have unity. Teach us oneness and unity is relationship and fellowship. Teach us oneness is covenant relationship with those of the same Lord. Lord, teach us unity is the community of that covenant relationship. Father, show us how reconciliation is the pathway to unity and oneness. Show us how we are to seek reconciliation with all believers in Christ, than there is to be reconciliation throughout the church in our cities, and that there is to be reconciliation on the city level among the believers. *Let our* reconciliation not be limited to our group; let it be our connection to the body of Christ. Let reconciliation be connection to relationship with the church. Let our reconciliation be our coming together on common ground and common faith around the Cross of Christ. Lord, teach us reconciliation is coming together to build the community of faith; show us reconciliation is coming together to pray; and let our prayer be a step toward the beginning of reconciliation and community unity. Let reconciliation include our spiritual leaders coming together in heart and in faith, praying, ministering, and hearing the Holy Spirit together. Let reconciliation be the steps of coming together, building relationships on a body level, so that reconciliation becomes the first steps to unity and then to oneness. Lord, show us how unity is community; show us that unity is the church of the city having one mind and one heart in Christ; that unity is standing together and walking together not only for vision, but also for relationship and love. Show us that unity is an environment in continuum: in continual acts and words of love; unity is in cooperation, continuity, coherence in relationship, love, faith, vision, and mission on a city church level and body level that is lived out in the everyday life of the believer. Holy Spirit, lead us into all truth, into oneness that is relationship with the Godhead, and then with one another. Lead us into oneness that is both reconciliation and unity based on relationship with God and relationship with one another. Beyond code or creed, teach us it is love; let it be the linking of our hearts together for life, and for eternity. Father we pray for reconciliation, unity and oneness among all believers in Christ, in the city church in every city, among the city churches of the regions, the regional church, and the national church, and the global church. Holy Spirit, we believe we hear your call to the great, coming unity, to a hope for unity, to a faith for unity, to a revelation for unity that is coming like a river in the hearts of believers all over the world. Father we pray for each believer in Christ, we pray for them to hear this calling for unity, to have hope for unity, to have faith for unity, and to have a revelation for unity, we pray for a strong sense of unity to be birthed in their hearts. Father we pray among all groups in Christ, that they will hear the calling to unity, to have hope for unity, to have faith for unity, and to have a revelation for unity, we pray for a strong sense of unity to be birthed in their hearts. Father we pray for the city church in every city, to hear the calling for unity, to have hope for unity, to have faith for unity, and to have a revelation for unity, we pray for a strong sense of unity to be birthed in their hearts. Father we pray for the regional church in every region, to hear the calling for unity, to have hope for unity, to have faith for unity, and to have a revelation for unity, we pray for a strong sense of unity to be birthed in their hearts. Father we pray for the national church in every nation to hear the calling for unity, to have hope for unity, to have faith for unity, and to have a revelation for unity, we pray for a strong sense of unity to be birthed in their hearts. Father we pray for the global church to hear the calling for unity, to have hope for unity, to have faith for unity, and to have a revelation for unity, we pray for a strong sense of unity to be birthed in their hearts. Father birth a strong sense of unity in our hearts, give us ears to hear the calling for unity, give us hope for unity, give us faith for unity, and give us a revelation for unity. "Father, I will that they also, whom thou hast given me, be with me where I am; that they may behold my glory, which thou hast given me: for thou lovedst me before the foundation of the world." (Joh 17:24 AV) "According as he hath chosen us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before him in love:" (Eph 1:4 AV) Father we pray for a strong sense of unity, we pray for unity in the church, and we pray for the unity of the church. We pray in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, Amen. Elvis Iverson Pastor Elvis Iverson lives in Omaha, NE USA. He ministers internationally and has a heart for the nations. www.elvisiverson.com | ||
