The King James Version (KJV), also called the Authorized Version (AV), is widely accepted for its accuracy, and still commonly in use, especially among Protestants. The New Revised Standard Version (NRSV) is a modern language version that was developed as an ecumenical effort by Protestant, Orthodox, and Catholic scholars working together; also widely accepted for its accuracy, and is highly readable, even by teenagers. The presentation of scriptures where agreement in meaning can be shown between both of these two Bible versions can have ecumenical benefits in and of itself.

We recognize that there are many other, excellent Bible translation versions. There are also other Bible versions in which all believers do not find wide agreement. There are also particular scriptures in which all believers do not find wide agreement, even within any one Bible version, including the AV and the NRSV.

We do not claim at this website to find agreement in all versions of the Bible, or in all scriptures in the Bible. Where there is not already wide agreement in the meaning of the Bible among Christians, we leave those matters for the various Christian denominations, non-denominations and other Christian groups, to teach as they deem proper.

There is no rigidly applied rule here about which versions of the Bible to use. We've suggested in our Guidelines the two Bible versions we think might best suit our Prayer Group's stated purpose of finding the beginnings of our Biblical unity together in Christ at this website. We've even made a Bible search feature available at the bottom of every Forum page where these two Bible versions can be searched, provided for use here through the good graces of crosswalk.com. We're just trying to simplify the process of finding agreement with all believers in the Bible scriptures about what Jesus did on the cross for us all.

Here are some links you may find interesting for further study about the various translation versions of the Bible:

"Lord Jesus, we pray that we, your believers, be united as you and the Father are united. In every prayer here for unity and healing, in all we do and say, may the Lord's will in, with and through Jesus Christ be done. AMEN"
